Cardano's founder posted his intention on X after it was banned in Brazil The project will become a decentralized platform for free speech. Elon Musk posts alternatives to accessing X in Brazil.
Charles Hoskinson, founder of the Cardano blockchain, said in a Post In X, it plans to launch a decentralized social media platform in Brazil after Elon Musk's social media platform was banned by the country's Supreme Court.
“Although Brazil has silenced our brothers and sisters in X, their work still stands and matters to all of us,” he wrote. “I can't wait to hire more Brazilians to help us build a decentralized social network.”
Latin America's largest country is another frontrunner in the global fight over free speech regulation on the Internet. Bloomberg reportedX started to get dark over the weekend.
Many of X's 20 million users in Brazil, the world's fifth-most online country, were left without the platform after a court ordered the suspension after Musk refused to appoint a legal representative to deal with the Brazilian government, the report said.
For his part, X's billionaire owner has been posted: “A reminder that you can always access this platform through http://X.comEven on your phone. No app required. Now would be a good time to download a VPN if you've been blocked.
Musk posted a string of attacks on Brazil's Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who handed down the decision and is leading an investigation into online hate speech that he says endangers democratic institutions.
Hoskinson's project creates an alternative that combines the values of decentralization and free speech.
